Quan Handong
Quan Handong’s signature is his expressive brushwork applying traditional Chinese ink wash on Xuan paper. Though his skills are classical, Quan Handong renders images that break convention and evoke a modernist reading of nature.
Quan Handong was born in Guilin, China. He graduated from the Fine Art Department of the Guangxi Art Academy in 1982 with a BA degree in Chinese Painting and did his post graduate study at the Nanjing Art Academy. He is now a member of China Fine Artists’ Association and senior painter of Guilin Art Academy. He is also the Director of China Shitao Art Society. Quan currently lives and works in New York, New York.
