Recent advances in imaging technology have given rise to mountains of visual information and are therefore invisible to the human eye. From the farthest reaches of outer space to the deepest depths of the ocean to the smallest particles, artists are now exposed to a plethora of visual stimuli that along with virtual imaging technology has changed how artists view their environment. The conceptual embodiment of this new worldview can be seen in recent art using traditional media as well as art using new and electronic media. The integration of physical and virtual spaces has increased exponentially over the last decade. Sometimes these amalgamations are aggressively apparent and at times they are “virtually” transparent. The result is a new perception of self, society, personal and public spaces and their relationships to the larger natural universe.

The physical elements of my work concern the places where virtual spaces extend into physical space, where physical space is copied into virtual environments, and where biological and electronic technologies overlap. The creation of these artifices and their effects on our psychological and emotional wellbeing are important to reading the content of my work.
