ABOUT CROSSING ART

Founded in New York in 2008 by Catherine Lee, a noted patron and collector based between New York and Shanghai, Crossing Art is dedicated to advancing cross-cultural dialogue through contemporary art. The gallery operates at the intersection of North America and Asia, fostering meaningful exchange between East and West.

To date, Crossing Art has presented over one hundred exhibitions and public art projects. In 2017, the gallery established its flagship location in Chelsea, New York, sharing its space with design company  Crossing Space. In 2025, Crossing Art expanded globally with the opening of Crossing Art Room in Shanghai's historic Xibu·Tongyili — a dedicated space for contemporary art exhibitions, featuring a professional gallery and an art shop.

Rooted in rigorous curatorial practice and an international vision, Crossing Art represents a select group of leading Western and Asian contemporary artists. The gallery's programming spans public art initiatives, large-scale installations, and digital art channels. Through its presence in two of the world's most dynamic cultural capitals, Crossing Art continues to build bridges across cultures, shape artistic discourse, and bring forward-looking perspectives to a global audience.
